HOW TO MAKE A GARDEN

ART AND THE GARDEN

Bring our own artistic flair into your garden. Learn how color schemes, visual movement, light and shadow, and features such as trellises and arbors can make your garden even more beautiful.

FUSED GLASS I

Learn how to create beautiful glass jewelry and other items by layering dichronic and colored glass and firing in a kiln. Materials fee varies*

METAL CLAY I
Teacher: Lis-el Crowley

Art clay silver is a pure silver powder mixed with non-toxic binders and water to create a clay that can be molded, rolled, and cut. When fired, the organics burn away and only the pure silver is left. You will be astounded at what you can create! Materials fee varies*

METAL CLAY II

Learn how to finish your metal clay creations. Previous experience or the Metal Clay workshop are prerequisites for this program. Materials fee varies*

BARK STORAGE CONTAINERS
Teacher: Jim Dina
Date: Wednesday, May 3, 7-9 PM
Fee: $25
Ancient peoples used bark containers for many purposes, from maple sugar storage to canoes. In this workshop, Jim will teach the techniques for creating your own container of birch bark. Recommended for adults and children ages 10 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Materials fee: $10.

GOURD BIRD HOUSE

Dried gourds become the perfect material for making creative bird houses in this unique workshop. Chris will show how to prepare, paint, & embellish the gourds in order to make one-of-a-kind bird houses. Materials fee varies*

GOOD GOURDS

Hard shelled gourds can be embellished with many fun and creative techniques. This class will teach students, through demos and hands-on work, to open the gourd, clean the outside, apply surface coloration, drill holes, and apply embellishments. Materials fee varies*

GARDEN CRAFTS FOR KIDS

Join Karen as she teaches how to add Rossi-style pizzazz to the garden by hand-painting on terra cotta pots. For kids ages 8 & up. Materials fee: $5

GARDEN COLLAGE

Ever wonder what your garden could look like in the spring, summer, fall, and winter? Learn to dream up beautiful gardens through collage. See the potential the easy way. Join Caroline for a spring evening of collage and garden fun without the dirt. Explore new plantings and make extraordinary changes in your garden with scissors, paper, and glue. Bring a photo of your garden.

Comstock: Yesterday, today, & tomorrow. Journey through time with Pierre Bennerup and the Comstock staff for the history of magical Comstock Ferre, the oldest seed company in America. Tour the seed department and learn about Comstock today. Have a sneak peek into the future as we create and bury a time capsule. Wine reception immediately following.
