A TV Diva
Karen Rossi recently stumbled upon a new medium for herself - television. Last month, she found herself with two TV interviews for local Connecticut shows. While very different in nature, the shows both provided fun opportunities to meet new people and talk about her passions - art, sculpture, her two Chihuahuas, and her new husband, Greg Pasborg.

Pet Talk
The Channel 12 News in Connecticut's Fairfield County features a weekly segment with Lauren Collier called "Pet Talk." Karen was thrilled to be part of something that includes pets. In fact, Lauren insisted that Karen bring Taco and Pucci along for the taping! Decked out in their blue and pink sweaters, the little Chihuahuas certainly enjoyed their television debut.

As part of the interview Karen explained her venture of creating pet portraits. Many of her original metal sculptures and mobiles from years past were essentially portraits of pets. However, the most recent development has been the creation of an updated version, in the form of "shelf sitters."

Full Bloom
After the excitement of "Pet Talk," Karen was more than ready to head into her hour-long interview with Zita Christian, a local TV personality who hosts a talk show called "Full Bloom." With her colorful artwork and sculptures surrounding her, Karen discussed a wide variety of topics with Zita. Karen told about childhood memories, including her mom's stories of growing up next to sculptor, Alexander Calder. She discussed her experiences with arts licensing and her belief in the importance of the arts in education. Finally, she shared her most recent ventures including the grand opening of her website's new e-store and her return to creating fine artwork and commissioned "Short Story" portraits.

Zita's interviews focus on the interests of the Baby Boomer generation. Full Bloom is currently in its fifth year and has received six national Pegasus awards for amateur video production. To read more, visit the website.
