MIRACLES
Happen With
Honors Within the past few months, Karen has been honored with two
St. Francis-related invitations. Back in February she was asked to become a Corporator
or good-will ambassador for the hospital. This vital role involves furthering
the message and mission of the hospital throughout the community. Also, earlier
this month, Karen donated a garden-themed mobile to St. Francis' MIRACLES 2005
auction. This year the proceeds will benefit Children at Risk, a program that
provides various services for children in the Greater Hartford region. On
Display Karen's
mobile, along with the donations of other area artists, is currently on display
at the Paesaggio Gallery on 100 Pearl Street in Hartford, CT. It will be available
for viewing until September 30th, when it will be moved to the Connecticut Convention
Center for the Gala. Silent Auction bids can be placed on the pieces at Paesaggio
Gallery. The gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm and Saturday
from 9 am to 3 pm.
The Gala and the final bids for the Silent Auction will take place on October
1st. MIRACLES has raised almost $7 million for various clinical and community-based
organizations through its annual events. For
more information, visit the St. Francis MIRACLES site. These
connections with St. Francis have been inspiring and motivating, especially since
Karen's history with the hospital dates back many years when she was an artist
in residence there.
