Open House Day!

Come On In!
Connecticut is throwing itself a party this weekend, and you are invited! CT's favorite establishments, museums, and entertainment spots will open their doors on Saturday, June 14th with free and discounted admissions, as well as special events and offerings. If you are wondering what all the excitement is about, the answer is the state's annual Open House Day. The event gives Connecticut residents the chance to discover (or perhaps rediscover) all that their state has to offer. Some of the highlights of the day include free strawberry sundaes, free wine tastings, and gallery and studio tours throughout the state.

Calling All Artists
When Karen first heard about Open House Day, she knew that she wanted to take part in the event that would showcase her home state, and more specifically one of her favorite Connecticut towns - Norfolk. She contacted as many Norfolk artists as she could and asked if they would like to join her in assembling a town-wide artist collective. The response was wonderful, and twenty-five Norfolk artisans will be opening their studios and galleries to take part in the statewide event on June 14th. For visitors wanting to explore all that this quaint Northwestern town has to offer, a map of the studio locations will be available at the Norfolk town green.

Events, Sales, & More
Karen's Norfolk studio, located at 60 Estey Road, will be open from 12:30 - 4 PM for the Open House Day. From 12:30 to 1 PM, Karen will give a plasma-cutting demonstration. For those interested in metal, sculpture, or art, this demo is a must-see! Plasma-cutting is the hands-on technique that Karen uses to create many of her original metal-sculptures. Starting at 1 PM, Karen will start her huge $5 clearance sale. Included in the sale are fabulous finds as rugs, banners, scarves, and candles! A $10 table of Rossi treasures will be featured as well. Take this opportunity to stock up on holiday or birthday gifts! These deals can't be beat!
