Calendars are Coming!

Counting the Days
Over the past few years, Karen has had her illustrations gracing calendars with themes such as "Red Hat Ladies," "Girlfriends," and "Angels Everyday." For 2008, Karen has found herself with two new calendars to be very proud of. While the themes and formats are slightly different from past projects, the resulting calendars are nonetheless extremely fabulous.

An Asian Twist
The first calendar resulted from Karen's growing relationship with Pearl River Mart, the country's largest Asian department store. Last May, at the National Stationery Show, owners, Mr. and Mrs. Chen, took an immediate liking to her line of "Fortune Cookie" greeting cards, feeling that Karen had a good sense of "east meets west". Since then, those same images that the Chens fell in love with, have been altered and redesigned to take on the form of a calendar.

Kids Collection
The second calendar in which Karen has taken such pride is the one created by Channel 3 Kids Camp and the CT ART School. This calendar features children's artwork, much of which was inspired by the artwork of Karen Rossi. Several of the drawings feature the kids' versions of Karen's trademark flying characters. The calendar came to be after the summer of 2007 when CT ART School held a series of art lessons as a service to the Channel 3 Kids Camp. The campers were taught how to use various forms of media including tempera paints, oil pastels, watercolors, and more. The calendar can be purchased through the Channel 3 Kids Camp website.
