A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR KATE

Birthday Bash

Many women look back on their childhood birthday parties with a sense of fondness.  Memories of balloons, beautifully-wrapped gifts, fancy dresses, and colorful streamers flood the mind when reminiscing over birthdays of years past.  There’s just something magical about such celebrations. 

An Artful Afternoon

Just this week, Karen had the pleasure of experiencing a taste of that birthday magic.  She was asked to teach a “Make Your Own Fanciful Flight” workshop as part of a 9th birthday party for Kate.  The best part of such events is the way that these parties bring together the things that Karen loves most: teaching, creating, and seeing the joy that others feel when they are creating as well.  Joy was certainly evident on the faces of all the little girls who attended.  This comes as no surprise, for Kate’s party was filled with everything that little girls adore: fun decorations, fancy cupcakes, and the glitter and glam of the Fanciful Flights project.  Each girl was able to express her uniqueness by making a “flight” that suited her personality to a tee.

Creative Celebrations

There are few things that give an artist more delight than seeing her artwork being enjoyed and appreciated.  In the case of Karen’s colorful and whimsical creations, the artwork is meant to bring smiles to the faces of those who behold it.  So, Kate’s birthday party couldn’t have been more of a success, from the viewpoint of both the little partygoers and their teacher.

The cost of a workshop is $75 an hour (plus a $20 materials fee per person). The materials fee includes the white-body metal ornament.

For parties held within a 20 mile radius of Meriden, CT, there is no additional fee. For locations further away, a travel fee (per additional mile) may be applicable.
