What is ETSY ???
ETSY is the dreamchild of Robert Kalin. It's an intriguing website dedicated to enabling artists to sell their wares, and to reconnect makers with buyers.  Its  vision is to Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade! If you are already an Etsy Patron, you will be pleased to know that Karen is now represented within a community of people passionate about handcrafted items.   The website has a high rank, and affords sellers tremendous exposure that may be otherwise unattainable on a limited marketing budget.

Buying and selling on ETSY takes commerce back to a time before the Industrial Revolution when customers were intimately linked to the real live artisans that produced their goods. Commerce the ETSY way is something you can feel good about, like patronizing the Farmer's markets and buying local! Having a presence on this website makes me feel like I am doing a farmers market every day. It's an alternative to buying mass-produced, anonymous goods at retail giants such as Wal-Mart and Target. Most of all, it is fun for shoppers and easy for sellers to use.

Making a store

A message from the artist, "I have heard about ETSY for years and finally, about a week ago, I set up my own storefront on the site.  I hardly knew where to start. I am tripping over my own half finished creations on a daily basis. This artwork needs to find a home and I can't stop making new things! It is only twenty cents to post an item, so if there is anything you would like to see- just send us an email!. Last night I painted canvas bags with big suns on them. A few more touches and they will be ready to post! I just can't wait for spring."

Alchemy

This is where it becomes fun! As a narrative artist Karen loves to tell a story through imagery either in paintings , drawing or the cut metal work. Alchemy is a space on Etsy where buyers can post requests for custom, handmade items. Sellers can then bid on the opportunity to make that item and win the sale. It's your opportunity to collaborate with a crafter or artisan to get exactly what you're seeking. As a buyer you can even make a private request to our studio, through our shop on Etsy.
