Dreams
Come True: The
Norfolk Sculpture Garden Dream
a Little Dream Ever since 2000, when Karen purchased a property
in Norfolk, CT, her dream has been to create a fully functioning studio on the
land of this rustic, quiet getaway. Twists and turns and many studio moves caused
this dream to be put on hold. However, over the past several months, she's seen
Norfolk progressing toward the studio she'd always hoped for. With the recent
installation of several of her large-scale pieces, Karen is thrilled to see the
"Sculpture Garden" she's desired finally coming together. With the help
of several incredible friends, her dreams are becoming reality. Get
Connected Earlier this fall, Karen made some incredible connections
at the Channel 3 Kids Camp
Martini Tasting, which she hosted at Comstock Ferre. After asking for some
volunteers to help with the Norfolk Sculpture Garden, she was overwhelmed by the
positive response. Bob Burrows, owner of ABC Home Services, volunteered several
of his guys to help with the heavy duty digging and lifting that would be required
to place the largest sculptures. Rossi fans, Sally, Sharon & Barb, expressed
the desire to help wherever they could. No job was too big, no job too small.
Karen knew that Norfolk would be a haven of sculptures in no time. Getting
the Job Done With the help of everyone involved, Norfolk certainly
began to take shape in a matter of weeks. The guys from ABC Home Services installed
the big, heavy sculptures. Rossi Studios' employee, Nancy Michaud, spent several
days in Norfolk clearing brush and making sure the grounds looked as clean as
possible. Karen's mom, Peggy Rossi, along with Sally, Sharon & Barb, continued
to take down small trees and clear out the land. Even the local beaver unknowingly
did his part by clearing a lot of the extra trees and twigs. The addition of Karen's
handmade log benches added an extra special touch to the property, and the space
was ready for the many events that Karen has held there over the past several
months. The future only holds more good things for this artist studio. Between
the many Open Houses,
the creation of new sculptures, and the display of older original pieces, Norfolk
is really coming into its own.

Much larger versions of "Uncle Sam" and "Betsy Rossi " were
also installed on the Norfolk property.
