Holiday
Ornaments
With
the holidays fast approaching, there's no better craft to be making than handmade
ornaments. With a little handpainting, some sparkles, and some charms, you can
create fabulous, whimsical creations.
Materials:
Round Christmas ornaments (matte finish is better than shiny finish)
Sharpie Markers
Acrylic paint and paint brushes
Thin gold wire
Wire cutters or scissors
Pencil
Sequins, rhinestones, and beads
Charms of your choosing
Hot glue and hot glue gun
Glitter and/or fabric glitter paint
Directions:
1.
Purchase some solid-colored holiday Christmas ornaments. Matte-finish ornaments
are easier to draw and paint on than shiny ones.
2.
Use Sharpie markers to draw hearts, stars, characters, and anything else that
you'd like onto the ornaments.
3.
Paint inside the black lines to add color to your ornament.
4.
Once that coat of paint has dried, you may need to apply a second coat, if the
color isn't bright enough.
5.
Now, add details such as dots, stripes, etc to the characters outfits or inside
your hearts and stars.
6.
To add some Rossi style to your ornament, use the thin wire to create a spring.
Just wrap it around a pencil until the spring is the length that you like. Snip
the end with scissors or wire cutters.
7.
Attach sequins, beads, and/or charms to one end of the spring. Attach the other
end of the spring to the top of ornament.
8.
If desired, you can add sparkle dots onto the ornament using fabric glitter glue.
Or, use white glue and glitter to create a sparkly effect. Rhinestones could also
be hot-glued onto the ornament, if you'd like.
