She is creating an illustration which will be used as part of a fundraising event for the camp. The "After-Hours Soiree" will be held at Comstock Ferre in Old Wethersfield on September 28 from 5-8 PM. The evening will include martini tastings, food from local restaurants, and appearances by both Karen and Channel 3's Scot Haney. To learn more and to buy tickets, please visit the Channel 3 Kids Camp website. Karen recently had an opportunity to spend an afternoon with the amazing kids at the Channel 3 Kids Camp! Together they painted rocks, which will be used as the favors at the upcoming fundraising event. To see more pictures of the painted rock masterpieces, click here. For a Furry Cause Karen Rossi and the CT Humane Society joined forces to help raise money for animals in need. Karen created an illustration which was unveiled on March 25th, 2006 during an event at Comstock, Ferre & Co. at 263 Main Street, Old Wethersfield. The Martini Tasting helped raise funds for the organization that finds homes for over 8,500 pets per year. In the Company of Women Earlier this year, Karen was able to lend her artistic talents to the YWCA's event, "In the Company of Women." This luncheon, which was held at the end of March, was the major fund raising event for the YWCA of the Hartford Region. Over 1400 influential women and men were in attendance, including Governor M. Jodi Rell, Lt. Governor Kevin Sullivan, CT Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, and Hartford mayor Eddie Perez. Charitable Donations One of Karen's recent endeavors was the creation of the Hartford-inspired print for the Greater Hartford Arts Council. It commemorates the 35th Anniversary of the United Arts Campaign by highlighting some of the arts and heritage activities funded by the Arts Council: jazz, blues, fiddle contests, arts festivals, community fairs, run/walks, parades, and even fireworks on New Year's Eve. The painting will be reproduced and offered as a thank-you gift to contributors to the 2006 United Arts Campaign, which kicks off February 28 at The Bushnell.
