Karen Rossi to participate in Women’s Panel

 

Meriden, CT April 7, 2008— Nationally renowned artist, Karen Rossi, will take part in the upcoming Greater Hartford Women’s Conference.  On May 21, 2008, the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce will host the day-long event as a means of providing education, enrichment, and personal development for women.  Rossi will be joined by other well-known Connecticut women, including Janet Peckinpaugh, Gina Barecca, L. Kay Wilson, Laurie Rosner, and Renee Sherman.  These women will share their thoughts and experiences as they take part in the panel discussion entitled, "The Fate of Feminism and Its Relevance.”

Amongst the day’s other events are 12 workshops presenting a wide range of topics, including “Personal Leadership Essentials,” “5 Steps on the Path to Financial Security,” and “Lessons from a Lifestyle Entrepreneur.”  Keynote speaker, Marcia Wieder, will present  “Create Your Dream Life: On Your Way in Just One Day” during the luncheon portion of the conference.  Wieder is the renowned author of several books and is known as America’s Dream Coach.  For more information about this event, please visit www.greaterhartfordwomensconference.com.

Karen Rossi is the founder and owner of Rossi Studios in Meriden, CT. She is recognized worldwide for her charming, highly original portraits and metal sculptures of people, places, and lifestyles.  Recently unveiled have been several large-scale commissions.  In November, a 24-foot weathervane sculpture was installed at Evergreen Walk, a specialty mall in South Windsor, CT.  In addition, South Windsor Library became home to two large, whimsical flying characters.  Most recently, Karen has been working on a wall sculpture commission for the neonatal unit of Saint Francis Hospital, along with murals for the Children’s Hospital of Boston.  Her work is represented internationally in many public and private collections.  Additional information about Karen Rossi, her artwork, and career can be found on her website, www.karenrossi.com.
