Rossi to Attend Stationery ShowVisit Karen Rossi in booth 3476 from May 18-21Meriden, CT May 15, 2008— The National Stationery Show in New York City will be Karen Rossi’s trade show destination once again this year. With lots of surprises and new artwork ready to be debuted, Karen’s biggest influence this year has been the combination of her longtime love of metal and her more recent exploration of paper mediums. By using Calder-inspired folding techniques with her newest metal sculptures, Karen has created a collection of metal “greeting cards.” The sculptures demonstrate how her whimsical shapes could easily be translated into a paper medium, making fabulously unique and dimensional greeting cards. Themes such as Judaica, wedding, animals, and baby have come into play with the metal “greetings” that will surround her booth. More traditional greeting cards will also be available in the Rossi booth. Continuing with her technique of printing imagery on canvas, Karen will debut many new collections of work. Her popular “Fortune Cookie” line with debut its second collection, which is comprised of 12 Asian horoscope animal illustrations. In addition, Judaica and birthday are two of the big themes that Karen has focused on for her new 5x7-inch canvas cards. These cards have a unique quality in that the canvas artwork can be removed, matted, and framed long after the card has been sent and enjoyed. Be sure to stop by booth #3476 to see all the creations that are available. Karen has her self-published “Flights Au Naturel”, pins and ornaments which have been created in natural metals, including silver, gold, and copper. The “Flights Au Naturel” feature beloved characters such her angel, mermaid, and mom. In addition to the natural metal pieces, Karen will also be showing her self-published, handpainted collection of “flights.” A total of twelve unique characters, including favorites such as the Shopper, the Gardener, and Mrs. Santa, will be part of this line. Karen Rossi is the founder and owner of Rossi Studios in Meriden, CT. She is recognized worldwide for her charming, highly original portraits and metal sculptures of people, places, and lifestyles.
