Karen Rossi and Northwest CT artisans plan upcoming Open Houses

Meriden, CT May 5, 2008— This summer the artisans of Norfolk, CT and surrounding towns will join forces to bring their various art forms into the public spotlight.   By inviting the community to their Open House studio tours, these artists hope to reveal the hidden talents in Northwest Connecticut.  Starting with the first event on Saturday, June 14 and continuing with Open Houses on August ___, October 11, and November 8, the artists hope to unite the community, raise awareness of artists and their value to the community, and inspire artists of all ages.  All the studio tours will run from 1-4 PM.

The first Open House on June 14 will run in conjunction with Connecticut’s statewide Open House Day.  This annual event provides Connecticut residents with the opportunity to discover the many treasures that this state has to offer.  The hope is that Connecticut residents will gain a new appreciation for the resources and special treasures that are right in their own neighborhoods.
 
To make the Norfolk Open House event as user-friendly as possible, a map of the various artist studio locations will be published.  There will be an information booth, where maps can be obtained, on the Norfolk town green.  In addition, Jon Riedeman and Madeline Falk are providing a lot of assistance through the town's website.
